I am thankful today that God sees me!!!

He sees me where I am and just as I am!

He sees me when I’m happy and when I am sad.

Whether I look pretty or ugly…He sees my heart.

When I feel unworthy and insignificant, He sees me.

When I’m depressed and miserable, He sees me.

When I’m hiding in my shame, He sees me.

When I am in pain, He sees me.

When I feel all alone, He sees me.

When I obey Him, He sees me.

When I praise Him, He sees me.

When I choose to stay in my comfort zone, instead of where He has told me to go, He sees me.

Thank you Lord for “seeing” me!!!

The first person the angel of the Lord appeared to in the Bible was Hagar, a pregnant maid and slave girl, who was scared and alone in the wilderness.  He “sees” her and wanted her to know that He did!

She was by a spring of water/a well, when He initially appeared and spoke to her.  Hagar was the first person in the Bible to give God a name: “El Roi”…which means, “the God who sees me”.  So the well was called “Beer Lahai Roi”…”Well of the one who lives and sees me”.  (Gen 16:13,14)

It’s significant that we realize the mighty angel’s first appearance in the Bible wasn’t to a priest or a king, and why.  This angel is thought by many to be an appearance of God himself, as Hagar recognized.  She had no one to protect or encourage her in her life, and was with child, in the wilderness alone, and was distressed (to say the least).  God wanted her to know that He saw her in her distress and that she was not alone.

He met her there once, when she ran away (as a pregnant slave girl that no one else cared about), in her pain, anger, and loneliness.  And he met her there a second time (when her child had just been weaned, and she had been sent away), in her abandoned, frightened and despairing situation.

That’s the God we serve…a God who “SEES” each and every one of us!  No one is insignificant or unimportant to Him!  No matter who you are, where you are, what family you were born into, or what situation you may be in.  Even when we wander or when life circumstances and things push us down and toss us out, God is there.

Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Please know…He “sees” you and is there for you!
