As I begin to write, my heart is heavy and aching
For some close friends (basically family), whose hearts are breaking

A tragedy struck their precious family, just the other day
And their 17 year old son, Justin, unexpectedly, passed away

A difficult thing to comprehend...he was such a special young man
During these times we just have to trust that it's, somehow, part of God's plan

Another set of parents inducted into "the club"
The club that no one wants to be a part of

The loss of a child is like no other
Take it from me, a broken, bereaved mother

I love these dear friends that are hurting right now
And I wish I could ease their pain somehow

But I know that there is nothing I can say or do
To take away all the pain and suffering they're going through

There is, however, one thing guaranteed
God can give them the "true" peace and comfort that they need

So, Lord please wrap your arms around them during this time
Let them feel your love, grace and mercy sublime

May they look to You for strength and guidance
And lean on family and friends and not suffer in silence

I pray that they will hold tight to your word and the promises You've made
And that it will give them HOPE...knowing they will be with him again one day

Jesus, heal their broken hearts and all pain and sadness replace... With sweet memories that will bring a smile to their face

Psalms 147:3  He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Psalms 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14  But I do not want you to be ignorant brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
