I haven’t blogged in 2 months because of working on making changes to my blog and praying about them. I am excited about these changes and what God is going to use me for next. I plan to blog more often and I plan to try and reach as many people as possible. The first year kind of showed me about blogging in general, but I would like to become more established so that I can help more people.
As most of my friends, family and community members know, I lost my 8 yr old daughter, Laken, in a tragic golf cart accident on July 23, 2008. When I started my blog one year ago in September 2018, I started out by focusing on my mental illness because it was what affected my life daily. I knew that the Lord wanted me to share this about myself for many different reasons, which I’ve mentioned in a few of my blog posts; but with the main purpose of helping others and God getting the glory.
When God opened the doors for me to begin this blog, He gave me everything that I needed to know about how to create it and make it “go live” so that I could share my testimony with the world. He has shown me so much over this past year…about this blog and myself. He has opened doors recently that He has used to lead me to expand the purpose of my blog. I changed, well added to, my website address recently. I also changed & added to some of my blog pages.
After blogging through 2018-2019, I have felt the Holy Spirit leading me to not only share about my mental illness, but to share about the tragic loss of my child and how it has affected me. I mean, they do go hand in hand. Yes, I struggled with depression before my child died, but after that is when my world fell apart.
I hope you will pray with me and for me as I try to reach more people and help them with God’s strength. Please share my website addresses with as many people as you would like and on all your social media. You never know who you may be helping. God Bless!
Praying for you and your family. Thank you for sharing your testimony ??♥️??
Melissa, I can honestly say I can see God’s hand in this ministry. Your frankness and heartfelt emotion speaks to many who are struggling and hurting.
Praying for continued boldness to minister as few others can. ❤
